Kontron signs VAR agreement with Rausch Netzwerktechnik to resell SYMKLOUD featuring Intel® Xeon® D-1500 processors

Sales channel collaboration to introduce high density converged infrastructure solutions to major European hosting and cloud providers

Augsburg, GERMANY, November 10, 2015 – Kontron, a leading global provider of embedded computing technology (ECT), today announced the signing of a new sales channel agreement with German-based value-added reseller Rausch Netzwerktechnik to supply dedicated hosting and cloud providers with next generation converged hardware and software infrastructure solutions.
 
As an entry point, Rausch will use Kontron 10GbE SYMKLOUD converged modular servers featuring, among others, the recently launched Intel® Xeon® processors D-1500 family. Along with a full suite of integration services, Rausch offers data center clients a complete line of server and storage products including its Bigfoot family of high density storage systems.

Higher density of concurrent workloads per 2U SYMKLOUD
A 16 core count version of the Intel Xeon processor D-1500 series will be made available in Q1, 2016 timeframe. This equates to 144 physical cores in a single 2U enclosure, or, up to 3,024 cores in a 42U rack. Kontron offers two hot-swappable, low-power 10GbE modular servers – MSP8040 and MSP8041.
 
Targeted application workloads are at the data center edge, including: dedicated hosting, dynamic web serving, warm storage, edge routing and security.
