Kontron and partner Vantrix at IDF to showcase live cloud demo in the Software Defined Infrastructure Community

Integrated video transcoding platform features cloud provisioning and graphics engine virtualization using OpenStack

Eching, Germany, September 4, 2013 — Kontron and partner Vantrix – a global provider of intelligent media delivery solutions to service providers – will be at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) with a live cloud-based video transcoding and delivery platform that demonstrates significant advantages in cost-efficiencies, workload performance and scalability for broadcasters, carriers, and providers of cloud and content delivery services.

Kontron will show a breadth of integrated and application-ready solutions at IDF 2013 with a presence in both the Intelligent Systems and Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) Communities. From the SDI Community, attendees will learn how to efficiently deploy massively scalable media-intensive applications, such as video transcoding and streaming, in cloud infrastructure when leveraged with the OpenStack cloud platform. The collaboration combines Intel architecture-based standard hardware – the Kontron SYMKLOUD Media platform designed with 18 modular Intel® Core™ i7 processors – with Vantrix real-time video optimization and delivery applications.
