KONTRON ETX-PM CPU MODULE WINS CONTROL ENGINEERING EDITORS´ CHOICE AWARD

Product Cited for Industry Service, Technological Advancement, Market Impact

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- January 18, 2004 - Kontron, a leading embedded computer technology company, today announced that its ETX-PM CPU module has received a 2003 Editors Choice Award from Control Engineering Magazine. As one of 35 winners, the ETX-PM is eligible to win one of eight Control Engineering Engineers´ Choice Awards to be named at a ceremony to be held February 24 during National Manufacturing Week in Chicago.

The ETX-PM is the most compact board to date to host an Intel® Pentium® M processor and the first Computer-on-Module (COM) to be based on it.

Editors selected this year´s 35 Editors´ Choice Award winners from among all of the new products featured in the 2003 issues of Control Engineering, Control Engineering Online, or one of Control Engineering´s topical e-mail newsletters. At the end of the year, the editors review the published products to select the winners according to the following criteria: service to the industry, technological advancement, and market impact. As an award winner, the ETX-PM is among the most significant innovations introduced during the past year, according to the editors.

The January 2004 issue of Control Engineering will spotlight the ETX-PM and other award-winning products. Control Engineering plans to hold a related webcast in March 2004.
