EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., April 9, 2002 - Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), a leading supplier of rugged, mobile computers for field-deployed professionals, today announced the newest version of the Power Lite - a reliable, dependable computer in a portable, expandable package.

The Power Lite now is available with a 700 MHz Intel® Pentium® III processor and support for Windows 2000. The Power Lite also features a hard drive of 6 GB or higher, a 20x CD-ROM drive, an integrated trackball, two USB ports and two serial RS232 ports.

Tailored to meet the unique needs of field maintenance technicians and other users in commercial and industrial environments, the Power Lite features a full-length ISA/PCI slot for flexible expansion, a 14.1-inch XGA color display, and a detachable keyboard. It has an operating temperature range of 5 degrees to 45 degrees Celsius and is built to withstand moderate levels of shock and vibration.

Kontron Mobile Computing offers a full line of rugged, mobile computers, including the FieldWorks 8000. Providing even greater levels of ruggedness and expandability, the FieldWorks 8000 features full power and connection for up to three full-length or six half-length ISA or PCI cards.
