Kontron Mobile Computing Announces Record Profits for Fiscal Year 2001

Reports Fourth Quarter and Year-End Results

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Feb. 19, 2002 - Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), formerly FieldWorks, Inc., today announced results for fourth quarter and fiscal year 2001 -- the most profitable fiscal year in the company´s history.

For the fiscal year ending December 30, 2001, the company reported record operating profit of $2.127 million. The company also reported record net profit totaling $940,000, or $0.06 per share, as compared to a net loss of $17.7 million, or a loss of $1.92 per share, for fiscal year 2000. Revenues for 2001 totaled $17.3 million, up 10 percent over 2000 revenue of $15.7 million.

For fourth quarter 2001, the company reported net profit of $230,000, or $0.01 per share, as compared to a net loss of $4.4 million, or loss of $0.43 per share, for the same period in 2000. Revenue was $4.2 million, an 8 percent increase over 2000 fourth quarter revenue of $3.9 million.
