Kontron´s North American Headquarters Relocates to Poway Business Park

New 127,500 square foot facility home to manufacturing and corporate office

Poway, CA - May 16, 2005 - Kontron America, the leader in embedded computing technology and mobile rugged solutions, have relocated its North American corporate office to the Poway business park at 14118 Stowe Drive - just off of Scripps Poway Parkway.

The old Plexus facility will now be home to more than 180 Kontron employees ranging from manufacturing, to marketing, to finance and accounting functions. It is also the home to its Embedded Systems business unit - one of six business units throughout North America.

Newly added to the building are a workout gym with plasmas televisions, a sauna, Voice over IP phone systems, and a glassed enclosed demo room featuring cutting-edge technology that drives many of the systems that power today´s global economy.

"This 127,500 square foot facility is ideal to support us as Kontron.s North American Logistics Hub and as the System.s Entrepreneurial Product Center (EPC)," says Scott Crouse, General Manager and Vice President of Operations. "Growing traffic congestion, increasing facility / operating costs and production versus office space allocation were all major factors in our decision to relocate. I´ve seen many manufacturing plants throughout the world, and I´m very proud of our team and this facility."

Kontron America has been headquartered in the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area for nearly 8 years. the parent company, Kontron AG, was established in 1962.
