Teknor Breaks Size-Performance Barrier with Dual Processor CompactPCI SBC

Teknor introduces the cPCI-DMXS64 which features twice the processing plus 1.5 GB SDRAM in hot-swappable 4HP form factor

CT Expo 2001, Los Angeles, CA., March 6, 2001 - Teknor Applicom Inc., a Kontron company, today introduced the cPCI-DMXS64 system processor, the only CompactPCI board-level solution on the market today that is capable of offering dual Pentium III processors - Low Power in SMP configuration at 700 MHz clock speed each and up to 1.5 GB of memory in a slim, single slot (4HP) format.

This double density board design powers a wide array of mission-critical applications running on high availability, fault-resilient open systems solutions deployed in the new Internet and telecommunications infrastructure. This includes, among others, mission-critical CTI servers, VoIP equipment, and broadband data or intelligent network switches.

Combine the cPCI-DMXS64 with any of Teknors CompactPCI peripheral processors - cPCI-MXP, cPCI-MXP64 and cPCI-MXP64GX - for robust scalable multi-processing using IPTalky technology (IP on CompactPCI bus) for Windows. NT, VxWorks, pSOS and Linux-based applications. With low power dissipation and passive cooling, this is an ideal solution for data center work environments faced with costly performance bottlenecks.

The cPCI-DMXS64 is built with the Intel 440GX AGPset, a 100 MHz Front Side Bus, a 64-bit PCI bus, and SCSI-2 LVDS. Additional features include dual Ethernet, IPMI controller, low power dissipation and passive cooling. As an option, add standard Teknor mezzanine cards to expand its interface capabilities from seven to 14 CompactPCI I/O slots, or, employ standard 2.5" IDE drive mezzanines in a single slot (4HP) footprint.
