Channel Manager (CM) covering Americas region possibly including Canada and South America. This is a mixture of outside sales activities and partner management. An exciting opportunity for a motivated, goal-oriented individual with the desire to join the world’s leading embedded computing systems supplier. A compensation package is offered with a fixed base, and a variable component based on sales performance of distribution and sales partners. The CM will be a lively mixture of strategic and tactical activities within a quick changing atmosphere geared to close design wins, increase sales and build strong relationships.
• Support Kontron distribution and sales partner sales in closing design wins. • Drive "big board" type sales mentality. Assist distribution and partner sales force to close deals by coordinating Kontron technical support, product qualification, evaluation samples and product documentation. • Be the main interface for distribution network to find assistance to close deals • Coordinate training schedules for partners. • Be involved in marketing Kontron and product line through distribution partners. • Coordinate regional account review calls in conjunction with Kontron territory Strategic Account Manager (SAM). • Assist Business Unit product groups with New Product Introduction (NPI) into distribution channel • Management of Kontron registration system for assigned territory. • Ability to report data to Channel Sales Director, Sales VP and executives in a comprehensive manner. • Provide regular updating of distribution price lists, configuration guides and tools. • Assist channel sales director in expansion of Canada and South American markets. • Follow-up skills needed to determine the results of the customer engagement for tracking purposes. Complete sales funnel updates to track all business unit opportunities, using Sales Force CRM tool. • Increase bookings, revenue and mindshare with all distribution partners. • Assist in internal and distributor Sales trainings on assigned product line or for vertical market.
• Business Degree preferred with three to five years sales experience in a high tech industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Additional experience - two years of sales experience within the computer industry with a good technical understanding of company products is highly desirable. • Channel management experience within embedded computing and industrial distribution is a plus. • Experience with SAP and Salesforce.com are a plus. • Position may require up to 50% travel to support this role. • Must have the ability to influence and motivate people who do not work directly for you or Kontron. • Must have excellent ability to develop and nurture long-lasting business relationships. • Must have the ability to prioritize time and task management. • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must have strong organizational and computer database management aptitude • Ability to operate as part of a team. • Ability to provide a consultative approach through the sales process. • Ability to become technically proficient with Kontron products and services.
