All Windows Standard 7 BSP components can be used in the same way as in the Windows 7 OS. There are no differences. Therefore the Windows 7 BSP components can be downloaded on the same Kontron web location and can be used for the Embedded OS. ######################### Reference OS creation ######################### Creation process of the test reference image: 1) Booting from WES7 DVD Runtime x64 2) Start Wizard with "Build an Image" 3) Choose the "Application Compatibility" template 4) Start the installation process 5) After finishing installation install the standard Windows 7 64 bit Board Support Packages (BSP) from the Kontron website ################## Restrictions########################################### After all BSP components are installed on the target system there is still one unresolved device (Root\CompositeBus) present in the device manager section. - unresolved CompositeBus device The Root\CompositeBus device is not recognized by the Image Builder Wizard during OS creation. Install WES7 SP1 - CHIPSET Related packages: WIN-64-CHIP001_R10 - ETHERNET Related packages: WIN-64-ETH003_R11 - GRAPHICS This package includes an exe installer file that is designated to install the graphic driver and the Turbo Boost driver automatically. But there is a known problem when installing the package with this exe file. The installation process will interrupt with an error message. Manually installation process with the device manager: 1) Unpack the exe file to a destination folder with Winzip or WinRar 2) Go to section "Display adapters" in the device manager 3) Click right button and "Update Driver Software" 4) Click "Browse my computer for driver software" 5) Go to the destination folder where the graphic files previously were stored With this procedure only the graphic driver will be installed and not the turbo boost driver. This means that some turbo boost functions (used in some turbo boost analyse tools) are not working properly. To avoid this problem install WES7 SP1.
