All Windows Standard 7 BSP components can be used in the same way as in the Windows 7 OS. There are no differences. Therefore the Windows 7 BSP components can be downloaded on the same Kontron web location and can be used for the Embedded OS. ######################### Reference OS Creation ######################### Creation process of the test reference image: 1) Booting from WES7 DVD Runtime x86 2) Start Wizard with "Build an Image" 3) Choose the "Application Compatibility" template 4) Start the installation process 5) After finishing installation install the standard Windows 7 32 bit Board Support Packages (BSP) from the Kontron website ################ Restrictions ########################################### - unresolved CompositeBus device After all BSP components are installed on the target system there is still one unresolved device (Root\CompositeBus) present in the device manager section. The Root\CompositeBus device is not recognized by the Image Builder Wizard during OS creation. To solve this problem during Image Builder Wizard process: Preperation for installing the composite package: 1) Navigate to the following directory on the WES7 32bit runtime DVD and unpack the *.cab file to get all the files needed in original ("X" stands for the DVD drive) form: X:\DS\Packages\Driver\x86~winemb-inf-compositebus~~~~6.1.7600.16385~1.0\ Copy these directory structure to a suitable storage media (for example USB stick). Installing WinEmb-INF-compositebus during OS creation: 2) In the section "Summary of drivers and features" click on "Modify Drivers". 3) In the section "Find and select device drivers" click on "Automatically detect devices" 4) In the section "Confirm drivers to install" click on "Browse"and go to the location where the Compositebus driver is stored. 5) Add the compositebus driver to the image To avoid this problem install WES SP1 - CHIPSET Related packages: WIN-CHIP001_R11 - ETHERNET Related packages: WIN-ETH003_R12 - GRAPHICS Related packages: WIN-GRAPH001_R11 - HWMON Related packages: WIN-HWMON001_R11 - STORAGE Related packages: WIN-STORE001_R11 - AUDIO Related packages: WIN-AUDIO001_R10 - KOMMISC Related packages: WIN-MISC002_R13 - IPMI Related packages: WIN-IPMI001_R11
