Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

ICS Advent Only Rack-Mount PC Provider to Participate in Microsoft´s Southern California Region Windows 2000 Launch Event on Feb. 17
San Diego, CA (2/2000)-ICS Advent (formerly Industrial Computer Source) announced it will participate in the launch of Microsofts Windows 2000 operating system platform here. The San Diego event, part of Microsofts worldwide launch for Windows 2000, will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Diego Hotel from 9:00am to 1:00pm. ICS Advent will feature their mission-critical rack-mount PC platform.
According to Don Hardwick, Director North American OEM Sales, Microsoft Corp., "The Windows 2000 platform will be the business operating system of choice for the next generation of PC computing. From notebooks to high-end servers, it provides an improved architecture, and a more reliable platform to enable businesses to achieve greater levels of availability. As a Gold member in the Microsoft OEM System Builder Program, ICS Advent has worked closely with Microsoft to gain the training and tools they need to preinstall Windows 2000 on their rackmount PCs. Were pleased that ICS Advent will be joining Microsoft to celebrate the release of Windows 2000 at the Southern California launch event and that they will be maximizing the Windows 2000 platform for customers of their rack-mount PCs."
A majority of ICS Advent rack-mount systems will be preinstalled with Windows 2000, and orderable from the companys web site (www.icsadvent.com) after February 17, with 24-hour delivery. ICS Advent President and CEO James Jameson said, "Whether deploying Windows 2000 on the desktop or in the most demanding e-commerce server environment, our customers can expect significant performance advantages over alternative platforms. Windows 2000 is the fastest yet, and provides better performance and more robust operation, in a more cost-effective package.
