Kontron Mobile Computing Announces Recent Technology Contracts with Six California Police Agencies

Recent sales involve more than 175 in-vehicle computers

Eden Prairie, Minn., May 15, 2001 - FieldWorks, Inc. d/b/a Kontron Mobile Computing (OTC BB: KMBC), a leading provider of rugged, mobile computers, today announced that it has been recently awarded technology contracts from six California police departments, under which each department is adopting the companys mobile data servers for use in squad cars. The individual orders, which have either been delivered or are in process of delivery, involve more than 175 in-vehicle computers.

Since the fourth quarter of last year, the company has been awarded contracts by the following agencies:

Buena Park Police Department, Buena Park
Fresno County Sheriffs Department, Fresno
Kings County Sheriffs Department, Hanford
San Carlos Police Department, San Carlos
Torrance Police Department, Torrance
Tustin Police Department, Tustin
