Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

Customized Configuration of Embedded Computer Systems
Eching, Germany, March 28, 2007 Kontron announced today the availability of its 2007 Product Catalog. The new, 94-page product catalog from Kontron offers a comprehensive overview of all the relevant form factors in embedded computer technology and numerous system platforms.
The 2007 Product Catalog is divided into 17 categories, with 72 different board level and system solutions in various processor versions. Updates to 33 product categories (46 percent of the entire product line) have been made. About one-third of the long-term availability solutions are standard systems, which are offered with industry and country specific certifications. Furthermore, at the board level, besides 22 SBC and COM form factors, many expansion components such as I/O cards or flat panel adapters are offered, making it easy for system developers to configure individual system solutions from the standard portfolio.
In addition to Kontrons product portfolio which ranges from modules and boards to systems and software and includes application-ready platforms built based on embedded and mobile rugged computer technology, current application examples illustrate the use of standard and custom products in important market segments for embedded and rugged computer technology.
